Welcome to Chores Nest. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Chores Nest mobile application, the website located at choresnest.com, and any related services, features, or software (collectively, the “Services”).
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Chores Nest, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Services.
About Chores Nest
Chores Nest is a digital family organization platform designed to help households manage daily responsibilities and information. The Services may include features such as:
- Task and chore management
- Shared family calendars
- Shopping lists
- Notes and reminders
- Finance tracking
- Document vault storage
- Family member profiles
- Notifications and alerts
- Data export tools
Some features may change, expand, or be removed over time as the product evolves.
Modifications to the Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When changes are made, the updated Terms will be posted on our website and the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Continued use of the Services after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Eligibility
To use Chores Nest, you must be at least 13 years old, or use the service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account you confirm that you meet these requirements.
User Accounts
Certain features require creating an account. Chores Nest currently supports email and password login, Google account login (OAuth), and guest mode access.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account, keep your login credentials secure, and notify us if unauthorized access occurs. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
Guest Mode
Guest Mode allows users to explore features without creating an account. In Guest Mode, most data is stored locally on the device, some features may be limited, and data may not sync across devices. Users may convert a guest session into a registered account later.
User Content
Chores Nest allows users to create and store content such as tasks, calendar events, lists, financial records, personal notes, uploaded documents, and household member information (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content. However, you grant Chores Nest permission to store, process, and transmit that content solely to provide the Services.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Chores Nest responsibly and lawfully. You must not:
- Use the Services for illegal activities
- Upload harmful software or malicious code
- Attempt to disrupt the system or servers
- Access other users’ data without authorization
- Attempt to reverse engineer the application
- Misuse notifications or communication features
- Impersonate another person or organization
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property related to the Chores Nest application is owned by the developers of Chores Nest or their licensors. This includes software code, application design, logos and branding, interface elements, and documentation. You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of the Services without permission.
License to Use the App
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Chores Nest application for personal household organization purposes. This license does not allow you to sell or resell the application, copy or redistribute the software, reverse engineer or decompile the application, or remove proprietary notices.
Data Storage and Synchronization
Chores Nest uses a hybrid architecture including local device storage and cloud synchronization services. Local storage technologies may include AsyncStorage and WatermelonDB. Cloud services may be used for account authentication, secure backups, and cross-device synchronization. Details about data usage are described in the Privacy Policy.
Advertisements
The current version of Chores Nest does not display advertisements. However, advertisements or subscription plans may be introduced in future versions. If introduced, users will be notified and the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy will be updated.
Premium Features and Subscriptions
Some features may be offered as premium features or subscriptions in the future. If introduced, pricing will be clearly disclosed, payment will be processed through supported platforms, and subscription terms will be presented before purchase. All purchases will be subject to applicable app store billing policies.
Data Export
Chores Nest may allow users to export their information in formats such as JSON and CSV. Users are responsible for safeguarding exported files.
Account Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. You may also request account deletion through the application settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts if these Terms are violated, fraudulent or abusive behavior occurs, or system security is threatened.
Service Availability
We aim to keep the Services available and reliable. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, system upgrades, network failures, or technical issues.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no guarantees regarding uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, compatibility with all devices, or accuracy of stored content. Users rely on the Services at their own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chores Nest and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages, including loss of data, business interruption, device malfunction, or financial loss. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the Services in the preceding twelve months.
Third-Party Services
Chores Nest may integrate or rely on third-party services including authentication providers or infrastructure platforms. These are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
Privacy
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, and protected. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the service operator is based.
